Reiki is a form of energy healing that can be performed on anyone anywhere so long as they have given their consent.  

There are many different modalities of energy healing in the world, many calling themselves Reiki healing. I personally practice Usui reiki, which is a Hands-on or distance healing modality which uses universal life energy to relax and heal the body, mind, and spirit.

Reiki is the act of laying hands on a human or animal, comforting and relieving pain, and has been used in hospitals for healing cancer and other patients throughout the world. 

Reiki:

* Heals physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments

* Relieves depression and hormonal imbalances

* Compliments medical treatments (such as chemotherapy, cardiac treatment, hospice care, etc)

* Reduces anxiety, gives emotional stability, AIDS in pain management

* Induces feelings of relaxation and wellbeing

Reiki treatments are performed by a Qualified professional Reiki Practitioner. All treatments are catered to each individual client's needs and desires, with the goal to present a serene and relaxing atmosphere while giving tranquil and soothing therapy. Clients will leave each session with a feeling of deep relaxation and peace. 

 Reiki can treat all types of illness, disease, and injuring, including relieving pain, anxiety, stress, symptoms of fibromyalgia, chronic Fatigue Syndrome, cancer and the symptoms experienced with chemotherapy. 

Reiki 

Reiki is a modality of healing which transforms the practitioner into a channel for Universal Life Energy, which is the energy that is part of each of us and everything around us. 

Thousands of years ago, hands-on healing had been a universal healing therapy known by everyone, but it had been lost. In the mid 1800's, Mikao Usui from Japan began a quest to find and learn about this method of healing. This is the healing he had heard the historical Jesus (Yeshua) had used to cure the sick. In his search, he looked for authentic information on the factual history.

In his investigation, Christian authorities in Japan had explained that nobody knew of this particular method of healing.

He then traveled to India, where Buddhist monks explained that the methods of which he sought had been lost, and in order to find them, he wound need to enter into the Buddhist path to enlightenment, taking many years to learn.

Makao then traveled to the United States, living there for seven years. He was unable to find answers from the Christian experts, but in his time there he learned to read Sanskrit, the ancient language of scholars in Tibet and India. 

Eventually, Makao returned home, where he moved into a Zen Buddhist Monastery. There, he found texts describing the healing formula. Now that he could read Sanskrit, he could read and  understand the material. Unfortunately, the writings did not tell him how to activate the energy, and how to make it work. 

With deep meditation, paper, and fasting on Mount Koriyama in Japan, he learned and was given the answers on how to activate the energy using symbols, and Reiki was reborn.

After learning how to use Reiki, Makao Usui began to help those in need and heal all those needing healing. He needed to pass the knowledge of reiki onto others in knowing how to attune and activate Reiki energy. Makao began teaching people to be Reiki practitioners, beginning with Chujiro Hayashi, and ending with Hawayo Takata, Mr. Usui passed Reiki on to many people, and gave Reiki back to the earth. 

Hawayo takata was the first student of Mikao Usui who traveled to the United States. She was the giver of Reiki to the West when she moved to Hawaii and began teaching Reiki. She attuned 22 people just in the last ten years of her life. Hawayo Takata passed on in 198, leaving many Reiki Masters to follow her teachings, and to spread Reiki to the world. It is thanks to Mrs. takata that we have Reiki in the United States and around the world.
